Easter Bunny Altered Egg Carton Swap

Hi everyone! I'm here to share another egg carton that I altered for Esveyde in a swap that was over at My Scrap Room site. The requirements the carton had to be decorated in a Easter theme, three cups filled with Easter candy and three with craft goodies for a total of six cups. Since I couldn't find a half carton either at Walmart or Target I cut a dozen egg carton in half which I had found at Target. It had an indention in the center of the lid which made it a lot easier to cut in to.
First I gessoed and painted the egg carton. Then I fussy cut a bunny from the Vintage Easter Images from Altered Pages. I used a combination of dew drops and cardstock from the Robin's Nest to decorate the top of the carton along with paper flowers, store bought and handmade, and lace and trim to complete this adorable container.

A close up of the inside lid and this image is from the Vintage Easter Images too.

I included an assortment of candy and crafty embellishments  so my sweet partner could eat chocolate while she works on a project. :-)

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is wonderful and enjoy creating!!!

Do You Hear Spring Calling?

Hi everyone and Happy Spring! I'm here to share my project for the Robin's Nest. This month I used the Spring Collection which is 20% off  this month and I might say it is simply springy.  Also we are cross promoting with Altered Pages which has some awesome vintage collage images.
I have an over abundance of buttons, lace, ribbon, charms, ephemera from swaps and I really want to get it contained into one storage container. Well, this is what I came up with…an altered egg carton!!! It has 18 cups to put away tidbits of crafty goodness.

I started with gessoing the egg carton inside and out. Once the gesso is dry paint with acrylic paint. I didn't paint the top or inside of the lid because I would be covering it with cardstock.

Next cut two Green Butterfly Glitter Cardstock (I used the backside of the cardstock) to fit the top and inside of the lid.

Adhere to the top of the lid.

Also to the inside lid…I inked around the edges of the cardstock to add more color.

I added Moss Green Glitter Cardstock to the top along with Purple Ants Glitter Cardstock and Spring Stripe Glitter Cardstock which I made banners out of and adhered to the lid. Next I glued lace around the outer edge of the egg carton.

I used this Metallic Blue Christmas Trim that I got on clearance for 40 cents at Hobby Lobby…I love a great deal! :-) I glued it just above the lace all the way around. I then added sequins and Beach Dew/Tear Drops to ever other "bead".

A close up of the bow with stacked buttons and topped off with a Beach Dew/Tear Drops.

I fussy cut from the Little Spring Birdies collage sheet a bird and nest with baby birds and adhered them to the corners of the lid and then decorated with paper flowers (some store bought and some handmade), dew drops, gems that were rescued from a damaged prom dress and mini Easter eggs. I also added Stickles to the images.

The most time consuming part of altering this egg carton was the gessoing and the painting. Other than that it is easy peasy to decorate. :-)

I have already added my collection of goodies to all the cups. Now I will be able to have them at my fingertips when I need to add the right little something to one of the many projects I have going on.
Also notice I added a dew drop to each "tip" of each cup. :-)

A Little Birdie Told Me…

Hi everyone!!! Spring is almost here!!! Days are getting longer and a little bit warmer which has got me in the mood to create something fun  and springy. :-) I have a card I created for the Crafty Card Gallery and this month is something  birthday related.
I stared with cutting a card base using the Sizzix Card, Scallop #3 die from Moss Green Glitter Cardstock. Next I gathered up my card stock scraps, two stickers from the Robin's Nest: Spring Sticker and White Dew Drop  to use on this adorable card. The little birdie is from the Little Spring Birdies college sheet from Altered Pages. I fussy cut one of the bird out and added a sequin, Crystal Stickles and a little party hat that I cut from my scraps. The birthday is sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Simple Sayings II set.

Isn't the little birdie just festive???

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for stopping by, hope your Tuesday is awesome and enjoy creating!!!

Spring is Here Matchbox

Hi everyone! I'm here to share a quick post of  a 300 count matchbox that I had altered over a year ago for a magazine call. It wasn't selected so I put it back to share at a later date and since I have Spring fever…lol…I thought I would share. :-)
I used scrapbook paper, a variety of flowers, gems, dew drops, seam binding, and a "Spring is Here" sticker to create this vintage Springtime matchbox. Also I had found the little ceramic dove when I was cleaning so I added Crystal Stickles to it to glitter it up.

If you have any questions about how to alter a matchbox please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Friday is awesome and enjoy creating!!!

Easter Joy Tea Cup

Hi everyone! Is everyone ready for Spring??? Blooming flowers, longer days and warmer weather…I know I am. I have been on a creating frenzy of fun springy, flowery, Eastery crafty goodness and I want to share one of my latest creations.
I used the tea cup template and I printed on Purple Ant Glitter Cardstock which is from the Robin's Nest and their whole Spring Collection is 20% off this month. Before running the cardstock through the printer I cut the ants off. Once printed I cut out and glued together. The paper doily I adhered to the saucer and glued the tea cup on top of that.
Also this month we are cross promoting with Altered Pages and we received some fun vintage digital images to play with. This bunny is from the Vintage Easter Garden Collection which I am just giddy over. I printed this on a piece of textured white cardstock which to me looks like it has been printed onto a canvas. I did fussy cut the bunny out and I saved the Easter Joys be Yours to make a tiny sign out of.
The outside of the tea cup I glued buttons, sequins and dew drops around the lip. I waded up a piece of tissue paper and adhered it inside the bottom of the tea cup and then glued the bunny to it. Then the real fun began by adding moss, tiny plastic eggs which I doctored up with glitter, paper flowers with gems and dew drops added.
I cut rosettes from the Spring Stripe Glitter Cardstock ,which is double sided, and added a sequin, dew drop and the little sign.

A tip if you have some of the store bought flowers that has many layers you can carefully take them apart and make flower buds with them. Also I added Crystal Stickles around the edges of the flowers for a glittery look.

I love the look of the bunny…so vintage!!! :-)

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little tea cup I created and if you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Thursday is wonderful and enjoy creating!!!

Beach Front House

Hi everyone! My hubby booked our room this weekend at the beach which I'm super excited about. I am so over this cold weather it's not even funny.
With the excitement of a vacation and warmer weather around the corner I created this fun little project using the Sizzix Gift Card Holder, House. I think I'm going to use this as a page in my vacation mini to the beach though.
While I was out shopping Saturday I found  My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 3 Oliver Collection (48 sheets of glittery goodness) at Hobby Lobby on clearance for $10 so I used a sheet from that for the house base. I cut from the Tim Holtz Alterations Scallops die the roof. I used some corrugated cardboard that I put back to create the roof. I distressed and inked it to give it that weathered/rough look. I also fussy cut the anchor from the Creative Imaginations Beach Front Collection…simply gorgeous paper.

The clasp I found at Hobby Lobby too. I thought it would be perfect addition along with the buttons and dew drop that I used to create a gable.

I embossed some Bazzill cardstock with the Sizzix Snowballs embossing folder and added that to the inside of the house. The flap I created a pocket to hold small tags or keepsakes from my trip. The doorway I figure I can either add a photo and/or I can slip more memorabilia behind the "wall". :-)

I hope you have enjoyed my take on this Sizzix Gift Card Holder, House and if you have any questions let me know. Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is wonderful and enjoy creating!!!
