Dragons Lair Designs: The Shoe Fairy

Hi everyone! I am super excited to be sharing my first design project for the Dragons Lair Designs! This month's featured product is from the Southern Comfort Collection. After pondering on what I could create with all these wonderful digital images this is what I came up with.
First I printed one of the Southern Comfort Paper onto a 5"x7" sheet of cardstock. Then I ran the paper through my diecut machine to cut out the Rolodex card. If you don't have a Rolodex diecut you can find a Rolodex punch at your local office supply store that can punch the notches in the bottom of the card. The Rolodex card is approximately 4 1/2"x2 1/2".

Next I fussy cut individual images out from Southern Comfort Cluster Pack and Southern Comfort Elements digital packs which I inked edges and added Stickles to give some of the images a little glitter. Then I adhered to the top of the Rolodex and embellished with fun and whimsical crafty goodness.

The Southern Comfort Free Journal Card Sheet I fussy cut the woman with the violin out, applied pastel chalks to her dress, face and violin and glued one of the feathers to her back and then adhered her into the shoe. Both of these images where cut out from the Southern Comfort Cluster Pack. I also punched a crown from the leftover scraps that was printed and added pastel chalk to give it a little color. There you have it my whimsical little Shoe Fairy Rolodex card! I hope this has inspired you to create one for yourself. Please be sure to stop by the Dragons Lair Designs and check out the Southern Comfort Collection. There is just so much you can do with this collection!
Also if you have any questions please let me know.

Fall Back Junk Journal Rolodex Holder

Hi everyone! I am here to share my project that I created for the Eileen Hull's September Art with Heart  Fall Back Challenge. I decided I wanted to try my hand at creating a rolodex holder with the Scoreboards XL Die Box Square and this is what I came up with. As seen below I cut out three of the box shapes from mattboard.

Next I measured and cutdown the boxes to form my rolodex holder.

I adhered all edges together.

Cloths pin come in handy and keep everything from coming a part while it dries.

I glued the chevron cardstock in the bottom of the holder and then cut two pieces of mattboard and punched holes which I used a rolodex as a template to center the holes. Next I cut two rounded  dowels to fit and then painted with a soft yellow acrylic paint.

I covered the box with cardstock, placed the dowels in the holes, added legs and finished off with a "imagine" sticker from my stash.

I do have a rolodex diecut but it is smaller than the holder so I dug out my rolodex punch (you can get this at an office supply place).

I went through my massive stash of scraps of scrapbook paper, cardstock, graph paper and book pages and punched out twenty cards for my holder.

The plan is to "try" to either decorate or journal something everyday on each of the cards. Also I plan on create more cards as I go along…fingers crossed. ;-)

Be sure to stop Eileen Hull Art with Heart Challenge and check out the rest of the entries for more inspiration!

I hope this inspires you to create one for yourself. If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by, hope your Monday is awesome and enjoy creating!

Fall Splendor Card

Hi everyone! I am here to share a quick Fall card I created for a swap I am in.
I started out with a piece of cardstock which I folded in half to make a 3"x6" card base. Then I stamped the leaf image onto a piece of cream colored cardstock, inked all edges, added bling, cut more cardstock  to frame the image and adhered to the base.

I adhered scraps of cardstock and sentiment digital image to the top of the card.

I finished off the card with a button, sequin, dew drop and twine. The only hard thing was added the tiny bling to the leaf other than that easy peasy! :-)

Also I am submitting this card for the Word Art Wednesday Challenge 150.

If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for stopping by, hope your Saturday is wonderful and enjoy creating!

Golden Mason Jar Gift Bag

Hi everyone! I'm here to share a project I created for a challenge that is going on over at Sizzix's blog. My inspiration comes from the photo below. I love the soft, blurred and watercolor feel of the photo and this my take on it.

I started off with a small polka dot gift bag and added soft and vintage looking cardstock. Next I cut a jar from the packaging of what Eileen Hull's Canning Jars, 3D diecut came in. Yep, the jar is plastic…I then embossed it with the Snowballs embossing folder which is from the Winter Set from Sizzix.

I then applied three coats of Gold Enamel Glitter Paint and once dry I cut and twisted two pieces of 20 gauge copper wire around the neck of the jar and "curled" all the ends.

I added a vintage earring I had received in a swap along with some twigs to the corner of the jar. I cut the flowers and leaves from Brenda Walton's Holiday Greenery diecut, shaped and added sequins and gems/jewels/dew drops to the centers of the flowers. I cut from matboard a tag from the Tags, Mini diecut (Retired Sizzix Orginal). I sprayed it with Tattered Angels Sugar Plum Fairy and once dry I added a rub on and flower to finish it off. I then tied it to the wire.

I adhered lace and velvet ribbon to the bottom of the bag. What a perfectly adorable way to present a gift to a friend. If you have any questions please let me know. Be sure to check out Sizzix Challenge for this month and see what everyone else has created.
Also I am submitting this project for the Paper Wing Productions September Challenge.
