Robin's Nest: Stars and Stripes Forever Altered Can

Hi everyone!
Are you loving Summer as much as I am??? I kinda go into hibernation in the Winter months but once it warms up I'm outside enjoying cookouts and time by/in the pool. Well 4th of July is almost here and I would to share a quick and simple project I created as a table decoration for the 4th. But first, before I forget, I would like to share with you that over at the Robin's Nest store they have the Diamond Shaped Dew Drops on sale this month for 20% off. There is so many things you can use these little dew drops on...embellish layouts, make flowers, etc.  Also we have teamed up with Timeless Twine too. What a great combination huh?!?!?!

My supplies list of what I used is below:

Vanilla Glitter Fluer Cardstock
Red Glitter Sorbet Cardstock
Blue Glitter Crackle Cardstock
Diamond Shaped Dew Drops
Glitter Blue Alpha Letter Stickers
White Alpha Sticker Letter
Jean Cardstock
Firecracker Aqua Blue and Cherry Red Timeless Twine
Button
Lace
Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations On the Edge Iron Gate Diecut
Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Ovals Large
The Paper Studio Script Embossing Folder

Well first off you need an empty and clean can. I used a pull top can so I wouldn't have any sharp edges on the inside because if there is a will or way I will cut myself...lol :-)

Next I Gesso the bottom and top edge of the can. No need to do the center because you will cover that with cardstock. Once the Gesso is dry I used Folk Art Tapioca Acrylic Paint to go over what I just Gessoed. Let dry. Now cut Vanilla Glitter Fluer cardstock to fit can. Once you have done that use Mod Podge to adhere to can.

Cut a 2" strip of Jean cardstock and cut from the iron gate diecut a piece long enough to go around the can. Next adhere to can along with lace and a 1/4" strip of Jean cardstock to can.

Cut from Red Glitter Sobert cardstock using the largest Classic Scalloped Oval. Next emboss with the Script Embossing Folder. Cut from the Jean cardstock using the next size under the largest Classic Scalloped Oval. Now center and adhere to the front of the can along with a patriotic image of your choice.

Next make a bow with the Firecracker Aqua Blue and Cherry Red Timeless Twine. Adhere a button to the top of the bow and then shape.

Adhere to the side of the can. Next cut a strip of Firecracker Aqua Blue and Cherry Red Timeless Twine and glue one end of under the bow and the other end tie a small bow and adhere to the other side of the can.

The banners slightly fold the end and cut a small "v" out of each and adhere to the top of the twine. Next add U.S.A. to each of the banners.

Lastly add Diamond Dew Drops to the Iron Gate diecut and you are finished.

Now you have a quick decoration for the 4th of July. You can add a candle, silverware or anything your heart desires.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out The Robin's Nest  and the Timeless Twine stores. Also be sure to stop by the Chattering Robin's blog and check out the rest of the design teams creativeness.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your day is wonderful!!!

Swap-bot Vintage Swappers: March Rolodex Swap

Hi everyone! I'm finally getting around to uploading photos for this swap I was in more than a few months ago. I wanted to do a quick post and share a couple of rolodexes I created. I found these adorable bunny images over at Ephemera's Vintage Garden blog which I knew I just had to use. When you get a chance stop by Debbie-Anne's blog and see all the digital images she has created. Hope they inspire you to create some decorative rolodexes for yourself.
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Butterfly Junk Journal

Hi everyone and Happy Friday!!! I have a quick post I would like to share with you.  I participated  in a Tiny Junque Journal Daybook Style Swap in the Scrappy Diva's group over on Facebook. My swap partner, Von, I hope will like this little journal I created. I used envelope, paperbags, wallpaper, old greeting cards, doily, book pages, postage stamps, paint chips, coin wrapper, map, scrapbook paper, seam binding, bakery's twine and all sorts of embellishments.
I'm off running errands this morning, then maybe a little quality time in the pool and tonight is the opening of Riverbend. Ten days of lots of music, lots of people on the Tennessee River!!! Tonight I can't wait to hear Georgia Florida Line and Jake Owens.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!!!
