January Altered Rolodex Swap

Hi everyone!!! Just wanted to share a quick post today of a Rolodex I created for a swap I'm in on Swap-bot. The theme of the rolo could be anything vintage so I choose to go with something along the lines of snow...since it has been cold around here...brrr ;-)

I used my Sizzix Card, Telephone & Address die to cut out my Rolodex cards...I had to make one for myself too... to me this is a lot easier than trying to actually alter a rolo card that you purchase at a office supply place. :-) I also used cardstock, bits of scrapbook paper, lace, baker's twine, old buttons and Dew Drops. The vintage sheet of music I used my Sizzlets Merry Details die to cut out snowflakes. The snowman image I got from Vintage Image Crafts on Facebook. If you are on Facebook go over to their page and like them. There is tons upon tons of images that you can download and the best part it is FREE :-)

I also inked all of the edges and I used Crystal Stickles on the image to give it that snowy glittery look.

The back of the card I download the 2013 calendar from Crafty Secrets and cut out the January calendar. I used my printer to print out the words snow day and my name which I adhered to the rolo. Wa-laa!!! Finished!!! :-) Now all I need is a Rolodex holder!!! :-)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to create something fun!!!

Air Mail Art Journal Page

Hi everyone! I'm just dropping by for a "quick share" of another art journal page I created. I'm still using up stickers from The Robin's Nest Stamp Tag Kit...stamp, post mark and circles...and I also used from my Robin's Nest stash white alphabet stickers which I inked with Versa Magic Aloe Vera Chalk Ink.

I used Tattered Angels Vintage Seasons Timeless Romance wings stamp to make the stamp look like it was flying and Fancy Pants Delights circle stamps on top of the circle stickers to add some extra interest.

I raided my scrap bin of scrapbook paper and also included a piece of a dictionary page and a page from a book on roses to finish off this page.

I hope your day is wonderful and thanks so much for stopping by. As always I hope this inspires you to create something fun!!!

Fly Away With Me Journal Page

Hi there! I want to share a quick post with everyone. I had stickers from the Stamp Tag Kit leftover from one of my projects I created for the Robin's Nest and I wanted to see if I could somehow incorporate them in a journal page. I started out with a junk mail envelope as the base to start my page with.

I used bits of scrapbook paper, bit of lace, stamped images...fancy pants Delights stamps and the small butterfly stamp is from Christy Tomlinson... and a piece of an old dictionary page.

I had a #8 tag that I had painted, stenciled and then I sprayed with Perfect Pearl Mist that I wanted to somehow include on the page too. I used the brownish round sticker, blue chipboard tag...which I inked...and the blue and yellow Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest Stamp Tag Kit to embellish with.

Here's a close up of the swirl tag that is included in the kit. I used the "leftover" of a circle I had punched out to highlight the word approved on the page.

If you get a chance please stop by the The Robin's Nest website and check the sales they are having on the tag kits for the month of January. Also be sure to check out their blog regularly to see what everyone on the design teams is creating.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope this inspires to create something fun!!! :-)

The Robin's Nest: Birthday Wishes and "Tea-rrific" Friends

Hi everyone! First off I want  you to know that I'm so excited to be a part of The Robin's Nest Design Team and I have had tons of fun creating these two little projects for my first post on my blog and on The Chattering Robin's blog. So grab a snack and pull up a chair and get comfy cause I'm getting ready to share a lot of creativity with you.
My first project I want to show you that you can  use the The Birthday Girl Card Kit for something other than creating cards. I created a mini album and money holder with the kit.

I used a small paperbag (3.5X6.75") which you can find at your locate craft store.
I folded the bag at the bottom and adhered two of the sides to the bag which this should then give you two pockets. I then inked all edges of the bag and scrapbook paper. Added a paper doilies that had been cut in half and glued that and the scrapbook paper down on the front of the bag.

I used scraps of cardstock that I had leftover from other projects and used my Spellbinder Lacey Pennants die to cut out banners. I took nine of the banners and rolled the tops with a stylus and added a drop of glue to each to keep them from unrolling and then I glued them to the top of the bag. I cut out another banner and used one of the birthday stickers for the card kit...I did cut it down a bit so it would fit on the banner.  I attached the gold ribbon to the mini clothes pin which I attached to the bag along with three more mini banners, stickers and Dew Drops.

For the mini album I cut two of the embossed cards in half...which gave me four mini cards...and punched holes in the top. I decorated with scrapbook paper and stickers from the kit and then used the remaining gold ribbon and strung it through the tags and tied a knot in the top.

Whaa-laa!!! You now have an instant money holder with a mini album to document that special someone's birthday :-)

For my next project I created a mini toilet paper roll album using the Stamp Tag Kit, Sky Blue, Teal and Ocean Blue Classic Glitter Cardstock  and Awning Swirl Glitter Cardstock. Also The Robin's Nest has teamed up with Heartfelt Creations this month to showcase some of their wonderful stamps sets. I received the China Fragments PreCut Set along with a matching Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups die to play with.

Again I used bits of scrapbook paper that I had laying around...I'm a believer in not wasting anything . :-)
First off I stamped the tea cup image onto a piece of white cardstock and then place the Spellbinder die exactly on top of the stamped image and ran it through my diecut machine. I figured this out after a lot of trial and error. I then inked the edges of the tea cup. Next I stamped the tea cup on varies colors of cardstock and I fussy cut all the flowers and leaves out. I glued them to the cup and last but not least I added a Dew Drop to the center of the hot pink flower.

I used three toilet paper rolls which I flattened. Also I measured the cardstock and adhered to each of the rolls.

I used five of the tags as pages inside of the mini. I punched holes in the bottom of each tag, added scraps and embellished with buttons, bits of lace and Dew Drops.

The rest of the tags I embellished and placed through out the mini for added interest. Don't you think the tags look like a good old pair of comfortable denim jeans? I do :-)

Now all I need to do is add photos.

Please stop by the The Robin's Nest website  and check the sales...20% off if you use the promo code cardkitpromo...that they are having on the card and tag sets for the month of January. Also be sure to check out their blog regularly to see what everyone on the design teams is creating.
