I would have shared this sooner but have been under the weather this week. I do now feel a lot better. First I would like to share some super fun news...drum rolls please... I made the Crafty Card Gallery Design Team...I'm doing the happy dance. Me along with 17 other super talented crafty folks were selected to Jennifer Restivo's inaugural design team.
If you get a chance please go check out the blog and see just how creative everyone is.
Also I would like to share a quick photo of a page out of my art journal I had worked on. This page is actually made out of a toilet paper roll. First I flattened the roll, used a bone folder to get sharp edges on the roll. The front I wanted to share my cousin Lorie's birthday. I used scrap's of scrapbook paper, heart button embellishment, baker's twine, stamped July the 4th and finally used some left over Crafty Secrets images.
On the other side, which I had a total blast creating, I used scraps of scrapbook paper, eyelet, Prima flower with a brad in the center, Prima wings, Martha Stewart crown punch with a button in the center, the baby is a leftover Crafty Secrets image that half of the body had been cut away. So to cover up this obvious flaw I made a "nest" out packing paper...I think it turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself...***smiles***...and last but not least I used some Pink Paislee stickers for the date.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to create something fun!!!
Enjoy creating!!!

Art Journaling with a Twist
I would like to share a quick post of my attempt at starting an art journal. I have SO many scraps of scrapbook paper laying around I decided I really needed to do something with it all...the hoarder in me won't let me give it away or even worse throw it away...GASP!!!
The next page is a body, words and cat head I clipped from a magazine. I also used scraps of scrapbook paper and the meow and cat are stickers I had laying around. I had loads of fun creating this page.
I actually received this scrap of paper in a "stuff an envelope swap" and this is what I came up with. I had a photo of my nephew Cameron when he was young that really wasn't a good photo because of what was in the back ground. My solution was use a decorative punch to punch out my nephew, use leftover clip art, stamp his age and the date on the page and I used a Robin's Nest Dew Drop on top of the party hat.
I do have some more pages I have created but I'm dog tired and hear my bed calling me. I hope this inspires you.
Thanks for looking and enjoy creating!!!
This page is actually some scrapbook paper I could have used to make a card with. I thought it would work nicely with a photo of me from the beach...which is my favorite photo and some scraps, stickers and embellishments. The "Facts about Me" is a tag that pulls out from behind the photo and has information about me on it.

Ho! Ho! Ho!
I wanted to share a card that I created for Crafty Card Gallery Design Team call that I'm trying out for. I absolutely love the soft colors of the Jack and Jill "Be Happy" Gleeful paper I used from the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection.
For this card I cut a 6x6 square from the My Mind's Eye paper and then folded it in half. You now should have a 3x6 folded card. I cut various sizes of cardstock, then ink the edges with Versa Magic Dew Drop Aquatic Splash. Adhered them to the center of the card. Next I used Delta Rubber Stampede Santa stamp on a #6 tag which I did cut down a little...no exact measurements because I eyed-balled it***giggles*** I then inked all the edges of the tag and attached some lace at top. I used a soft pink chalk pastel to give Santa a little rosy color in his cheeks. I cut a banner from cardstock and cut the Merry Christmas from Me and My Big Ideas Fantastic Christmas 2 collection...another super fun paper to play with. When I glued down the tag I left a 1/8 of an inch of the tag hang off of the card for a different look.
I cut bits of velvet ric rac and lace glued to the card and last but not least I added baker's twine to the buttons and glued them down.
Ta-daaah!!! The card is finished. I love making this size card because I can get four cards out of a sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper. I hope you will give this size card a try and let me know what you think :-)

Bona's Mix Media Tag Swap
I would like to share a tag I created for Bona's (aka Live Love Scrap) mix media tag swap that she hosted on her blog. I am in such awe of her creativity and was super excited I actually was able to get into one of her swaps.
I used a #8 tag which I did washes of the following paints: Folk Art (Slate Blue), Americana (Spa Blue), Ceramcoat (Turquoise and Green Tea).
After the washes dried I glued a piece of a 1920 dictionary page to the tag and then used Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens Fanciful Stencils over part of the page and tag. I then let that dry. I used Perfect Pearls Mists Sour Apple and sprayed a little coat of glimmer to the tag. I used the following rubber stamps: KaiserCraft (bird cage), Christy Tomlinson (butterfly), Limited Edition (complex corner) and Stampabilities (Felt With the Heart). The birdcage, quote and the butterfly I used StazOn Timber Brown and Teal Blue ink and for the complex corner I used Stampin Up's Craft white ink. The quote I cut apart and inked all of the edges and glued to the tag. Then I fussy cut the butterfly out and applied glue to the center of the body. I folded the wings up to make the butterfly look like it was flying. To finish it off I added a bit of lace , button and a Robin's Egg Dew Drop to the top of the button and then it was finshed.
I also created a envelope of goodies using a Tattered Angel Field Notes Stamp set, seam binding, scrapbook paper. I included this with each tag I created.
Also when you have a chance check out Bona's You Tube video. I've included the link here. I hope this will inspire you to create your own tag.

Christmas Reindeer Card
I want to share a quick project I created a couple of months ago. I bought this really cute reindeer rubber stamp at Your Scrapbook Super Store and Clearance Center ...in the clearance store...which is located in Sieverville, Tennessee. I got some super duper deals while I was there. If I had had more time...I was only able to shop for 40 minutes before the store closed...I could have racked up alot more scrapbook booty than what I did***giggles***.
For this project I used: My Minds Eye paper, K & Company paper, Inkadinkado rubber stamp, Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzlits die, Button, lace, baker's twine, Stampin Up ink and rubber stamp.
It's hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner but maybe this will inspire you to dig out some of your rubber stamps, scrapbook paper and make something fun.

Where Has Summer Gone?
Oh my!!! Where has summer gone??? It just seems like last week I was getting the swimming pool ready to open. I have ran here and there to outings, festivals and worked on remodeling the house, and of course, working on some of my projects when I could find a moment to settle in one spot. Now is the time to slow down and get back into a creative routine. I signed up for two online workshops that are taught by Christy Tomlinson and Junelle Jacobson . I also had a dear friend from work give me the program PhotoShop. I'm so excited about the classes and hopefully I will be able to teach myself the basics of PhotoShop...does anyone know if there is a PhotoShop for Dummies book out there???
I'm going to share a creation or two with you. I have quite a few more projects that are finished and hopefully I can get those photos downloaded, cropped and then uploaded on the blog soon.
This first project is a matchbox I created using Sizzix matchbox diecut, bits of lace, seam binding, Prima flower, Robin Nest Dew Drop and a K & Company dimensional sticker. I just love the soft shabby chic feel of this projects!
Next I have a mini album I want to share. I love how the cover turned out...plus it is in my favorite colors too.***smiles*** I'm still trying to decide how the inside pages are going to look.
