i-crafter April Blog Hop: Shabby Chic Butterfly Gift Box

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share that I was asked to be a part of the i-crafter Inspiration Team and, of course, I said yes! With this being the first of the month it is time for the quarterly blog hop and the newest release of i-crafter diecuts!

I started by making a "practice butterfly" with the Folded Butterfly 3D (222001) before committing to the finally butterfly for my project. I cut out and folded on each of the indentions on the butterfly. 

I pinched the center of the diecut and wrapped a piece of wire around, secured and shaped. It was very easy to put together.

Now I cut out the "real butterfly" that I used for my project. The only difference I added a sequin and gem for the head and pearl top pins for the antennas.

I covered a box that I had received as a gift with patterned cardstock and trim before adhering the butterfly to the corner of the box. I also added lace, thread, jute, premade flowers, leaves and pearl sprayers to complete this gift box.

Wonder Tag

Hi everyone! I am back with another project I created for ColorBox for their Creativation booth this past January. I know it took me forever to share these projects with everyone but I was trying to space my posts out so I didn't overwhelm everyone with butterfly projects. 😬

For this project I placed a 3 1/4"x5 1/2" white tag in the Open Book Embossing Folder, placed between two cutting plates, placed onto the platform and run though a Diecut Machine. I inked an Art Dauber with Jade Premium Dye Ink and lightly rubbed over the embossed tag.

I placed a piece of White Cardstock on top of the Ornate Frame Diecut and placed between cutting plates and run through the diecut machine. I inked an art dauber with Dandelion Premium Dye Ink and lightly ink over the Ornate Frame Diecut. I added Gold Gems to the diecut and adhered the diecut to the center of tag.

Next I placed the outline of the butterfly stamp, from the Butterfly Clear Stamps onto the MISTI Stamping Tool and inked with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamped onto a piece of White Cardstock. I placed the "filled in" image of the Butterfly stamp onto the MISTI Stamping Tool (be sure to line up the stamp with the stamped butterfly cardstock image) and inked the stamp with Sandstone Premium Dye Ink and stamp on top of the stamped butterfly image.

I loaded three art daubers with the following Premium Dye Inks: Bahama , Atmosphere and Dandelion. I inked the majority of the butterfly image with Atmosphere Premium Dye Ink. I inked over a small portion the wings, near the body, with Bahama Premium Dye Ink. Lastly I inked the inner and outer edges of the wings with Dandelion Premium Dye Ink. I fussy cut the butterfly image out with Scissors. I adhered a metal tab to the body of the butterfly and added a Pink Gem to the metal tab for the head. I also added two Pearl Pins and Foam Pop Dots to the back of the butterfly and placed in the center of the tag.

I placed the "For Small Wonders" stamp onto an the MISTI Stamping Tool and inked with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamped onto a piece of green cardstock . I cut out the "Wonder" sentiment with a Paper Cutter and cut another piece of yellow cardstock slightly larger than the sentiment and adhered both together. I added foam pop dots and placed sentiment under the butterfly.

I cut and adhered lace and Pom Pom trim to fit bottom of tag. I cut two 8" pieces of lace and two gold Ric Rac and trim and strung through the top of tag, tied off with twine and adhered a button on top of twine. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Daydream Paper Clip

Hi everyone! I want to share another project, a paper clip I altered, that was shown in ClearSnap's booth this past January at Creativation .

I placed the cloud stamp from the Butterfly Clear Stamps onto an Acrylic Block/Precision Press(retired) and inked with Leather Premium Dye Ink and I stamped randomly on one side of the folded piece of cardstock. I inked an Art Dauber with Bahama Premium Dye Ink and lightly ink edges of banner and the cloud images.

I cut the stamped clouds cardstock 8"x3 1/2" and fold in half, 4"x3 1/2". I cut a "v" in the end of cardstock to create a banner.

I placed the Daydream stamp from the Butterfly Clear Stamps onto an acrylic block/Precision Press(retired) and inked with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamped onto a piece of cardstock. Next I cut and folded, inked the edges with Sandstone Premium Dye Ink using an art dauber. I cut two smaller banners from patterned cardstock and slide all stamped and patterned cardstocks around the jumbo paper clip and adhered together.

I punched out a mini butterfly from cardstock and inked an art dauber with Rose Premium Dye Ink and inked the mini butterfly, adhered to the "Daydream" banner and add a Black Gem to the body.

I placed the outline of the Butterfly stamp from the Butterfly Clear Stamps onto an Acrylic Block/Precision Press(retired) and inked the stamp with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamped onto a piece of White Cardstock. Next I placed the "filled in" image of Butterfly stamp onto an acrylic block or Precision Press...be sure to line up the stamp with the stamped Butterfly cardstock image...ink the stamp with Sandstone Premium Dye Ink and stamp on top of the stamped butterfly image.

I inked three art daubers with the following Premium Dye Inks: Rose, Raspberry and Dandelion and inked the majority of the wings with Rose Premium Dye Ink, ink a small portion of the wings, next to the brown, with Raspberry Premium Dye Ink and the inner and the outer portions of the wings with Dandelion Premium Dye Ink. I fussy cut the butterfly image out.

I adhered the butterfly to paper clip banner, added three Black Gems to the body and clear glitter glue to the dots on the butterfly. I looped several gold metallic and yellow threads and glue underneath the butterfly.

Butterfly House Gift Box

Hi everyone! I am back this week with a gift idea for Mother's Day! I created this little gift box for ClearSnap to be shown in their booth at Creativation this past January and I am finally getting around to sharing this fun piece.

I started by placing the outline of the Butterfly stamp from the Butterfly Clear Stamps onto the Acrylic Block/Precision Press/MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamped onto a piece of White Cardstock.

I placed the "filled in" image of the butterfly stamp onto the Acrylic Block/Precision Press...the precision press is no longer available but since creating this project I now own a MISTI Stamping Tool which I love. I made sure to line up the stamp with the stamped butterfly cardstock image after inking the stamp with Sandstone Premium Dye Ink and stamped on top of the stamped butterfly image.

I inked three Art Daubers with the following Premium Dye Inks: Coral, Dandelion and Black. I inked a majority of the butterfly image with Coral Premium Dye Ink and the inner and outer edges of the butterfly wings are inked with Dandelion Premium Dye Ink. The butterfly body  was inked with Black Premium Dye Ink. I fussy cut the butterfly image out.

I put a 2"x3" box together. The second box I cut the lid/flap off and adhere the 3"x3" piece to the smaller folded flap of box. 

Next I glued the other smaller folded flap to the inside of the box. 

The smaller flap I glued to the other side of the larger flap. 

This creates the roof for the butterfly house.

I cut four pieces of patterned cardstock 2"x3" and inked an art dauber with Leather Premium Dye Ink and inked all edges of cardstock before adhering to the base of the 2"x3" box. I measured and mark in 1" increments on both sides of the roof and cut four 1 1/2"x3" and one 3"x3" brown cardstock and ink an art dauber with Leather Premium Dye Ink. 

I inked edges of all pieces of cardstocks. On the marked places on the roof, I started at the bottom of the roof and  work upwards by adding the 1 1/2"x3: pieces of cardstock. Before adding adhesive to the 3"x3" piece of cardstock I folded in half to create a 1 1/2"x3" roof peak. Then I adhered to the peak of the roof.

I inked and stamp the "Be Grateful" and "For Small Wonders" stamps from the Butterfly Clear Stamps with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamped onto a piece of cardstock. I cut both to 1 1/2"x2 1/2" plus one plain piece of cardstock the same size.

 I inked an art dauber with Leather Premium Dye Ink and ink all edges of cardstock. I then adhered the sentiments to each side of the house. The plain cardstock I adhered to the backside of the house. I punched two mini butterflies from white cardstock and inked both butterflies with Dandelion Premium Dye Ink using an art dauber. I adhered mini butterflies to each side of the house and added Black Gems to the center of each butterfly.

Next I punched from white cardstock a decorative punch (any punch/diecut will work as a long as it fits the front of the base of the box) and inked an art dauber with Rose Premium Dye Ink and ink the edges of the punch. I glued to the front of the base of the box and adhered the stamped butterfly to the center of the base of the box and add black gems to the body.

I placed a piece of white cardstock on top of the Flower Journaling Card Diecut and place both between two cutting plates and run through the Diecut Machine.

I loaded an art dauber with Rose Premium Dye Ink and inked flower diecuts, shaped and adhered flowers to each side of the roof. 

I added leaf sprigs, pearl sprays and twine/cording to flowers. 

I added a mix of gold gems and sequins to the center of each flower. Now all you have to do is add a small gift such as candy or jewelry inside and it is ready to give as a gift.

Spring Butterfly Tag

Hi everyone and happy Monday! I want to share a springy tag I created for ClearSnap!

I started by inking a glass tray with Hydrangea Blends Ink, adding water and placing the Tag in the ink mixture. The tag didn't have to be completely covered so I removed and let dry. I cleaned the glass tray and inked with Frog Blends Ink, added a small amount of water to ink and randomly lay parts of the tag in mixture, removed and let dry. Next I inked the Simple Dots Rollagraph with Glacier Lake Archival Dye Ink and roll over tag.

I placed the Tear Drop Circle Diecut on top of a piece of Textured White Cardstock and  placed between two cutting plates and ran through the Diecut Machine. I placed the first Butterfly Art Screen on top of the Tear Drop Circle Diecut and inked an Art Dauber with Citronella Dyestress Blendable Dye Ink and ink over the screen and removed.

I placed the second Butterfly Art Screen directly over stenciled area of butterfly, ink art dauber with Shamrock Dyestress Blendable Dye Ink and ink over screen and removed.

I placed the third Butterfly Art Screen directly over stenciled area of the butterfly, inked an art dauber with Moonstone Dyestress Blendable Dye Ink and ink over screen.  

Once I removed the screen I inked an art dauber with Old Rose Ink from the Sunset Petal Point Inks and ink over the edges of diecut. I added pop dots to the back of the Tear Drop Circle Diecut and place on top of tag. With a paper cutter I cut a piece of patterned cardstock 1 7/8"x4 1/4: and cut a "v" in the end which creates a banner. I adhered the banner to the tag.

I cut from textured white cardstock Flowers and leaves from crinoline fabric from the Journaling Cards Flowers  and Leaves Diecuts. I inked an art dauber with Old Rose Ink from the Sunset Petal Point Inks and ink the edges of two of the flower diecuts, shaped and adhere both flowers together. I added a button to the center of the flower. I inked an art dauber with Olive Ink from the Sunset Petal Point Inks and ink over the crinoline fabric leaf and adhered to back of flower before adding to tag. Next I made two bows one from seaming binding and one from thread and adhered both to the corner and underneath flower.

I placed the "For Small Wonders" stamp from the Butterfly Clear Stamp Set on the MISTI Stamp Tool  Ink with Leather Premium Dye Ink and stamp onto a piece of textured white cardstock. I cut the word "Small" and "Wonders" out with a paper cutter. Cut a "v" in the end of each to create a banner and adhered both to the bottom of stenciled butterfly and under the flower. I cut three 8 inch pieces of ribbon and lace and threaded all pieces through the top of tag. Tie off and adhere a button to ribbon and lace. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.
