Chunky Mini Vintage Junk Journal

Hi everyone! I had started this project almost two years ago...do you have  several of those types of projects laying around? 😬 I had started this for another design team that I was on but the company was bought out and all the design team members were let go. Soooo I just laid it aside with the intent of finishing it for one of Eileen Hull's projects. When I did pick it back up to work on it I found out the Needle Book diecut had been retired. Soooo I put it up again until now. One of my goals for this year is to work on my mountain of unfinished projects...along with new projects, of course! 😁  

I started by applying Adhesive Sheets to the front and the back of a piece of Mat Board, placing on top of the diecut and running through the Diecut Machine. I then cut the diecut down the middle of the spine.

I cut another needle book from mat board and I cut it down the middle diecut. I measured 1" on each side of the fold and cut.

Then I cut another piece of matboard 2" wide by 3 5/8" high and adhered each 1" sides to the matboard. This re-enforces the spine of the needle book.

I adhered each of the covers to each of the flaps of the spine.

I measured on the inside of the spine and marked where I would sew in the signatures and punched small holes on both ends of the spine.

Each signature has 8 pieces of patterned cardstock. I used an abundance of leftover scraps from my stash.

I punched holes in the signatures and sewed each one into the spine and tied off.

Before decorating the inside pages I decorated the cover with a frozen Charlotte that I made with a mold and paper clay. I inked it and added butterfly wings to the back. I added an oval diecut, a flower with leaves before adhering the frozen Charlotte to the cover. 

I added bits of ephemera, scraps of cardstock, diecuts, etc. to the pages of this mini.

Canvas Corp: Be Yourself Canvas

Hi everyone! Sorry if I have been MIA  but I have been cranking out projects for Creativation/CHA  which I can't share until a later date but now I am able to share my first project of the year with y'all! 

Each year Canvas Corp crew members are asked to create a 4X4 canvas and this is what I came up with.

I spritzed the 4x4 Canvas with the following Glimmer and Simply Sheer Mists: Bahama Blue, Verdigris and Baby Blue...if you haven't figured out these are some of my favorite colors to work with. 😊 Once it was dry I gathered up an assortment of Canvas Corp and 7 Gypsies cardstocks and started fussy cutting and punching out before I got down to layering everything onto the canvas.

I cut out from the following scraps of cardstocks I had laying on my desk: Architextures Old Window and Architextures Stenciled Crates cardstocks, roughed up the edges of the cardstock, added a piece of a doily and inked all before adhering to the canvas base.

I fussy cut the woman from the 7Gypsies Seamstress Pattern Cardstock and since there was and arm going a cross the body and the woman's legs hung off the canvas I decided to cover it with a saying and banners. Also from my own stash I fussy cut butterfly wings from a printable and added to the back of the woman. I didn't glue the wings down so I could curl to give them a little definition and I added Stickles to the wings. Also I added three little gems to the hat for a little bling.

The banners I cut from the Architextures Market Signs cardstock and the sentiment is from the 7Gypsies Gypsy Moments: Pose and Reflections cardstock. I inked all of the edges and cut the sentiment a part before adhering to the canvas.

From the 7Gyspies cardstock scraps I had laying around I distressed the edges of cardstock, inked and adhered around the edges of the canvas. 

The front of the canvas still looked a little bare so I punched out flowers and leaves from my Canvas Corp cardstock, shaped and added gems and flat back pearls to the flowers.

Quilt Queen Shadowbox

Hi everyone! I am super excited to share that my little shadow box is featured over on Canvas Corp blog today! As you know I love creating with diecuts but they can a little expensive if not on sale or if you are lucky enough to find them on clearance. When I do purchase them I always try to think of other possible uses besides the obvious use the diecut is intended for and this is the case with the House Gift Card Holder Diecut. I had purchased these cute printables from Lisa's Altered Art on Etsy and I had wanted to use an image or two in some type of shadow box. Then I had the bright idea that I could use the House Gift Card Holder and the Make it 3D diecuts to make my own shadow box. For instructions and photos you can find the post HERE.

Fall Fairy on Wheels

Hi everyone! I am here to share my project I created for Eileen Hull's Inspiration Team. This month we are showing how to use the Twist and Style Tool. You can do all sorts of fun things with this tool...jewelry, create stems for flowers, etc.

For my project I started by cutting from Matboard the "drawer" from the Candy Box Drawer diecut. I embossed the drawer with Honeycomb Embossing Folder and spritzed both sides with the following Tattered Angels mists: Walnut Gold, Bronze and Tattered Leather. I then put the drawer together according to directions.

Next I cut four 8 inches of 20 gauge jewelry wire, folded in half and put each end through the button holes. To use the Twist and Style tool you can watch the how to video HERE.

Once I got all the buttons and wire twisted I cut the wire down to fit the bottom of the drawer to create wheels which I adhered to the drawer.

I printed a little girl image that I had found on the Land of Nod blog (which has since been deleted :-(). I fussy cut the little girl out, used butterfly wings from my stash, added a little Stickles to the wings and then adhered together and then placed in the drawer box.

I cut a Rosette from specialty paper, adhered to the top of the drawer a long with a small bead.

I twisted a few copper color wire on the Twist and Style tool and then I wrapped the wire around a small dow.

I added moss, a mini pinecone with an assortment of flower and leaf punches to the inside to finish off my little drawer on wheels.

It's a Paper Flower Party with Eileen Hull!

Hi everyone! I am here to share a project I created using diecuts from Eileen Hull's newest collection that will becoming out in May. Since I love working with flowers diecuts I am so excited about all the new and re-release diecuts coming out!

The Flower Pocket project I actually created last year for display in Eileen's booth at CHA and I am now able to share it.

I adhered the box together according to the directions and then Mod Podge pieces of an old sewing pattern to the outside and inside of the Flower Pocket. The Heart and Soul Flower Diecut I cut one flower from white cardstock along with a leaf from the Spring Leaves Diecut.

I spritzed the flowers with Wedding Pink and the leaf with Moss glimmer mists. I put those to the side and let dry completely before shaping them.

I glued the flower shapes together along with the leaf and then added a vintage button and a Dew Drop to the center of the flower. I also added pom pom trim, Lace, thread and cording to finish off the box.
I foresee adding goodies to these flower boxes and giving them as gifts in the near future. There are so many ways you can use these!
