Decoupage Journal Cover DIY
Hey everyone! Today I am playing along with the Designer Crafts Connection's Decoupage Link Party Blog Hop! I'm sharing a simply journal cover I created using the Pocket Notebook Diecut, Botanical Tissue Paper and Mod Podge.
I started by cutting out two Pocket Notebook diecuts covers from Mat Board.
I cut two pieces of the Botanical Tissue Paper larger than the pocket notebook covers. I applied the Mod Podge to the covers with a sponge brush and then carefully placed the tissue paper onto the covers.
I also slowly worked the air bubbles out and what didn't rub out disappeared with two more coats of Mod Podge.
I adhered both halves of the cover together, added a decorative oval diecut and a chipboard flower sticker to the cover.
I adhered patterned cardstock to the inside covers and spine. I also strung the spine with elastic cording to hold notebooks and closure.
There you have it! I plan on adding junk journal style notebooks to this at a later date so stay tuned. Be sure to hop along with the rest of the DCC team and see how they used decoupage in their projects. You can the post HERE. Also if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Finding Happiness Pocket Notebook
Hi everyone! I want to share my other journal I created for Eileen Hull for her trip to the UK in September using her newest Pocket Notebook Diecut.
First I gathered up an assortment of Maggie Holmes cardstock Collections to create this journal. Then I applied Adhesive Sheets to the front and back of Matboard before placing cardstock on the front and back of the matboard.
I placed the Pocket Notebook Diecut on top of the matboard and run through the Diecut Machine. I cut two covers out.
I lined up the holes on the spine where only three holes showed both on the top and bottom and adhered together. I cut cardstock to fit both the inside and outside of the spine. I used a Crop A Dile to punch holes and set eyelets in the spine. I also added the elastic cording and tied off inside the spine.
I used the Nestled Borders Rectangles Diecut, stickers, pom pom trim, heart and gem and a couple of flowers and a leaf from Eileen's Flowers and Leaves Journaling Cards Diecuts to decorate the cover of the journal. If you haven't checked out the rest of the Inspiration Team's projects on Eileen's blog you can find those posts: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Genuine Vintage Pocket Notebook
Hi everyone! I want to share this Vintage Baseball Pocket Notebook I create for Eileen to take on her trip to the UK. Also I thought why not share since the World Series will be starting soon.
I applied Adhesive Sheets to both sides of the Mat Board, placed the cardstock on both sides, run through the Diecut Machine and I cut two covers out.
Also the cardstock I used is from Authentique, it's retired and I can't find the package to tell you what the name of the collection is...sorry. 😔 I added a "one of a kind" journaling card from the same collection to the cover. And I fussy cut from another journaling card two baseball players which I adhered one player to the front corner of the cover and added three black gems to each corner of the one of the "one of a kind" journaling card .
The back of the journal I adhered the other baseball players and a couple of banners to the lower corner.
I lined the last hole up on the spine and adhered together. For a more finished look I cut another piece of wood patterned cardstock and adhered to the spine and set Eyelets in each of the holes.
I ran the elastic cording through the button holes and the middle holes on the spine and tied off. I did add a little adhesive to the back of the button to keep it from sliding around.
I ran elastic cording through the holes on the spine and tied off inside the cover. There is eight elastic bands that can hold journals.
I forgot to add that I applied an adhesive sheet to the back of piece of cardstock and then I cut the word "journal" out from the Journaling Words Diecuts and placed it at the top of the journal cover. There you have it a completed journal cover and all that needs to be added is notebooks. Be sure to hop on over to Eileen Hull's blog to see what the rest of her Inspiration Team has created! You can find this month's posts: HERE, HERE and HERE. As always if you have any questions please let me know.

Tutti Frutti Business Card Holder
Hi everyone! I am back with another project from Eileen Hull's newest diecut collection the Gift Card Folder and Label 2 Diecut.
I placed a piece of Mat Board on top of the diecut and run through the Diecut Machine.
I covered both the inside and outside with cardstock from the My Mind's Eye Tutti Frutti Paper Pad.
I use mostly Zip Dry Adhesive but I chose to use Fabri-Fix to adhere the flaps together. I started with the first two flaps.
I used a cloth pin to keep the flaps together until they dried and then I added adhesive to the last flap and cloth pinned until dry.
The label diecut I covered with the same paper pad I used on the holder and adhered to the bottom of the holder. I cut several flowers and leaves from the Stitchy Flowers and Leaf Diecuts (retired) and Bookmark, Tag and Pocket Framelits out of the same paper pad.
I shaped the flowers and leaves with a Stylus before adhering to the front of the holder. I added a sequin and a gem to the center of the flower.
On the back side of the holder I added a strip of cardstock to the spool, a bird punched from patterned cardstock and I "wadded" the flowers up and then shaped along with the leaves. I added a brad from the Tutti Frutti Decorative Brads to the center of one of the flowers before adhering all to the backside of the holder.
I completed by adding my business cards to the holder. 😊 Be sure to stopped by Eileen's blog to see what the rest of the Inspiration Team has been up to. You can find the latest blog post HERE. As always if you have questions about this project please let me know.

Eileen Hull: Winged Charlotte Wrap Journal
Hi everyone! I want to share one of my projects I created for Creativation this past January for Eileen Hull's newest diecut collection called Book Club Chapter 2 which should be hitting your locate craft and hobby store any time this month. I am SOOOOO in love with this newest Wrapped Journal Diecut and I'm sure you will be too!!! Go ahead and grab your favorite beverage and sit back because this is a photo heavy blog post. 😊
I punched tiny holes into the spine and sewed two buttons into place. Side note I did add a little adhesive to keep the buttons from moving around. I punched a small hole in the cover and before adding the brad I tied off a piece of seam binding and added a bit of adhesive for good measure to hold everything in place.
I adhered mini pom pom trim to the inside cover of the journal and strung elastic cording to hold the little booklets I created in place.
I cut two papers per signature slightly smaller than the journal and stitched together for a total of four booklets.
I used a wide assortment of diecuts and printables that I had leftover from past projects.
The printables I found in a shop called One Crab Apple on etsy.
Creating these little journals are a great way to use up leftover scraps and bit and pieces of embellishments that you have laying around.
Notice the butterfly theme through out the journal.
I always remove the zippers and the zipper pulls from bedding packaging and use them as a "body" for butterflies.
I love adding bits of trim to the edges of the pages for a little interest and texture.
Instead of gluing images completely down on the page I only added glue at the bottom and side to create a nice tuck spot for journaling cards.
More little tuck spots behind this sweet little girl image.
This oval diecut I added glue to the top and bottom so all you have to do is slide a photo or journaling card underneath the oval frame.
Several of the fussy cut butterflies I adhered down the center just in case more journaling notes could be added at a later date.
Some of the pages I kept simple for either journaling or photos that can be added later.
Tim Holtz's Paper Doll where the perfect touch of whimsy throughout this journal.
I turned a journaling spot diecut side ways to create a belly band to hold these two tags.
If you have leftover alphabets use them randomly or as a cute saying in your journal.
I love how the bit of ribbon turned out on the butterfly! It's the perfect color combo!
The Pom Pom trim adds an adorable touch to the side of this page.
The yellow scalloped piece of cardstock was leftover from a diecut I used on another project. Instead of throwing it away I added it to the bottom of the page for an extra pop of color.
On the last page I added adhesive to the bottom of the diecut to create a pocket to hold a journaling card.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is awesome and enjoy creating!
For some reason I thought I had taken a photo of the front of the journal laid out completely but I didn't. I must have got into a "zone" when I was creating this 😉. I inked both spines, inside and out with Faded Jeans Distressed Stain and once dry I inked a glass tray with ColorBox Blends Coconut Ink, added a little water, loaded a paint brush with the color and splattered onto the spines.
I decorated the journal inside with blue and silver cardstock from Momenta. On the cover I fussy cut flowers from a piece of leftover cardstock and adhered to the cover.
Next I added a metal frame and before adding a frozen Charlotte doll (I made from a mold) I glued fussy cut butterfly wings I had in my stash to the back. I forgot to add that before gluing down the metal frame I added loops of thread too.
I adhered mini pom pom trim to the inside cover of the journal and strung elastic cording to hold the little booklets I created in place.
