Let's Set Sail Card with DCC and Maker's Movement Blog Hop

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share my project for this month's blog hop with Designer Connection Crafts and Maker's Movement!

First thing I did was cut a piece of Kraft Cardstock 5 1/2"x 5 1/2" folded to create the base for my card. I used a 6x6 pad of 7Gypsies Maritime (retired) on the front and all it took was two sheets from the collection to decorate. One of the sheets I fussy cut, distressed and rolled and added Foam Pop Dots to the back to add dimension and depth.

For the bottle I cut two bottle diecuts from the Clear Acetate Sheets and one outline of the bottle from the Double-sided Adhesive Craft Foam, the bottle stopper from cork and one from a piece of teal patterned cardstock. I peeled the backing and applied the acetate to the bottom side of the foam outline. I placed the ship and "Let's Set Sail" Sentiment stamps onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with water proof Black Ink and stamped onto a piece of Watercolor Paper. I then used the appropriate diecuts to cut each one out. I watercolored the ship and once dry placed inside the outline of the bottle along with the cork, seed beads and sequins before placing the other solid piece of acetate over it. I applied the teal outline over the acetate, lightly distressed the edges of the bottle and adhered to the front of the card.

I inked the edges of the stamped sentiment before gluing to the bottom corner of the card. I also added bits of inked cheese cloth to give a little texture to the card. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.
Also be sure to stop by the DCC blog and see what the other designers have created! You can find the blog post HERE
