ClearSnap, Paper House and Michael's: Mini Santa Journal

Hi everyone! This month ClearSnap, Paper House and Michael's have teamed up! We were challenged to use only products that you would find in Michael's Store. Though this paper pad isn't a Christmas theme I came up with a mini Santa journal for my project.

I inked the Jolly Santa Rubber Stamp with Wicked Black Ink and stamp onto a piece of speckled cardstock from the Paper House Color Washed Paper Pad. 

I inked the Santa stamp again with Wicked Black ink and stamp onto a piece of red cardstock (Color Washed Paper Pad). Only the Santa hat and berries will be needed. Next I fussy cut Santa, hat and berry images out and adhered the hat and berries to the Santa image.

I inked an Acrylic Block with Ice Jade and Aquamarine Chalk Inks, loaded a paint brush with water and paint the holly leaves with Ice Jade ink. Next I added shading to the holly leaves with the Aquamarine Chalk Ink. I cleaned the acrylic block and inked with Arctic Deep and Sea Crystal Chalk Inks and painted Santa's eyes with both inks. I also added Pink Sky Chalk Ink to the acrylic block and paint Santa's cheeks.

I applied Clear Glitter Glue randomly to Santa's beard and holly leaves and finished by adding mini light green gems to the Santa image.

I cut a 6"x9" piece of stripped cardstock (Paper House Color washed Paper Pad) and fold into to create a 4 1/2"x6" cover for the journal. I  also cut five pieces of patterned cardstock in various sizes to fit the inside journal cover and folded those in half was well.

I measured 2 inches down on each end of the spine of the cover and mark with a pencil, poked a hole with the Tool 'n One on each marked spot. I centered the pages inside the journal cover, poke holes in each page. I threaded a Needle with Twine and sew all pages inside and tied the twine off on the inside of the journal.

Next cut 2 1/4"x6" piece of patterned cardstock and adhere to the cover along with the Santa image. Cut a gold piece of cardstock 3 5/8"x 1/2" and a patterned piece of cardstock 1 1/4"x3". Cut the end of the 1 1/4"x3" at an angle to create a banner. Adhere both to the bottom corner of the cover. I cut a Seal (Hipster 1 Diecuts) from red cardstock. Next I cut the "d", "e" and "c" letter stickers down and add to the seal diecut.

There you have it! This little journal can be used to take notes, as a planner or photos can be added to it!

Autumn is in the Air Candle Holder

Hi everyone! I'm back and I wanted to share a quick Fall home decor project I created for ClearSnap. 

You can use any size jar for this project. First I adhered Jute Cording around the jar three times.

Underneath the jute I applied Antique Mod Podge with a sponge brush and add Sprinkle! Chunky Glitter onto the Mod Podge area of the jar. Shake off excess and let dry.

Apply mini gems around the top of the jute cording.

Cut two medium flowers and three small flowers from Crinoline fabric with the Journaling Cards, Flowers and Leaves Diecuts. Lightly ink two art daubers with Red Barn and Carney Inks and apply to the center of each flower. 

Once dry add a drop of adhesive to the center of each flower. Lay each flower on top of each other and pinch the center of all the flowers and shape.

I cut one Leaf out of Watercolor Paper from the Journaling Cards, Flowers and Leaves Diecut. Ink art dauber with Carney Ink and apply over the leaf diecut and shape leaf.

Apply Top Boss Embossing pad to the edges of the leaf. Sprinkle Copper Embossing Powder over the embossed area of the leaf and set embossing powder with heat tool. 

I completed the same steps as above with each of the following embossing powders: Gold Sparkle and Opalescent Embossing Powders.

Loop two hemp cordings and tie off along with a couple of messy loops of yellow and peach thread. Adhere to the back of the flower along with the leaf and glue to jar. 

Add lace and pearl sprays behind the flower and to finish off all you need is a battery operated candle.

This project would be prefect for an Autumn wedding too. As always if you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Be Merry Card

Hi everyone! I back with a Christmas card I had created this past Summer...I have shared these sporadically the last couple of month...and this is the last of that batch. I am sure I will be creating more later on. 
I folded a 6"x6" piece of cardstock from the Lost and Found Christmas Collection from My Mind's Eye in half to create a base for my card. I cut a piece of gold glitter cardstock to frame the Scalloped Rectangle from Spellbinders and adhered to the front of the card.

The "M" I found at Hobby Lobby on clearance. I painted it white and once dry applied adhesive and sprinkled with glitter.

I cut Be Merry from the same paper collection, punched two small holly leaves which I shaped and adhered to the bottom corner of the "M". I finished the card off with a little red gem.

Noel Card

Hi everyone! I am back with another quick Christmas card I created using the Lost and Found Christmas Collection from My Mind's Eye. The card base is 3"x6" and I cut a Scalloped Rectangle (from Spellbinders) out of gold glittered cardstock .

I adhered a strip of patterned cardstock, along with a banner and a Noel sentiment I cut out from the collection.

The miniature snowflake is actually an ornament that I cut the hanger off of it before adding to the banner. I finished it off with a sequin and a mini flatback pearl.

C is for Christmas Card

Hi everyone! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of Autumn? Well, we are still having temperatures in the 90's and upper 80's so it definitely doesn't feel like Fall. It makes me want to go for a swim in my pool. B-) Anyways...I had shared three Christmas cards in July and never got around to share the other three so I am here to share one of the cards with you today. :-)
I folded cardstock from the Lost and Found Christmas Collection to create a 3"x6" card base. Next I cut gold cardstock to frame a Long Classic Scalloped diecut from Spellbinders that I cut from patterned cardstock.

I punched out a holly leaf and flowers to create a poinsettia and I finished off with a gold sequin.

The letter "C' I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I painted it an off white and once dry I added clear glitter and last but not least I cut from the paper collection a sentiment and framed it with a banner. As always if you have any questions please let me know.

Welcome Little Star

Hi everyone!  I created this baby card for a magazine call but it wasn't selected so I thought why not share. :-) I folded a piece of mint green cardstock to create a 4"x5 1/2" card base. I added  some scraps of patterned scrapbook paper to the base.

The chipboard stars I painted in white, yellow and mint green. Let dry and then applied Mod Podge and sprinkled glitter to the each of those. The sentiment is from the Little Star set from Fancy Pants which I stamped onto a piece of patterned scrapbook paper. I finished off the card with two little pearl dew drops. Easy peasy card if I do say so myself. :-) If you have any questions please let me know.

What is in your stocking?

Hi everyone! I'm here to share an ornament I had actually started last Christmas but with all the craziness and such that normally goes on around this time of year I didn't finish it. Well I did get a complete of photos of me starting the process though. :-)

The stocking ornament is from SmoothFoam which I had received last year for a blog hop that the Robin's Nest and SmoothFoam was hosting together. 

I started by lightly sanding and applying a coat of gesso which once dry I painted the stocking with red acrylic paint. I cut the cuff of the stocking from White on White Classic Glitter Swirl Cardstock. I  applied antique Mod Podge to the stocking and then sprinkled glitter all over. Once dry I painted one of the packages, added some lace around the cuff and I put it away for the year.

I dug it out and this is how I finished it off. I used some Prima poinsettias and added a sequin and dew drop to the center for an elegant look.

I added a mini bottle brush tree, along with bells, pearl sprays and miniature Christmas lights.

I finished off with a little gold trim and a holly leaf.

Don't you think it looks lovely on my four foot tinsel tree I got for 66% off at Hobby Lobby last year. It was a floor model and pre-lit. It reminds me of my great grandmother's tinsel tree but hers had a color wheel with it. I remember sitting at her house at Christmas time watching the tree turn different colors…such great memories. :-)
