Old Time Farmhouse Christmas

Hi everyone! Can you believe it is only 6 more months and Christmas will be here?!?! Yep, I said the "C" word and in July too. Eek! But I have found out if I don't start creating some of the things now for Christmas most of the time it won't get finished since I am so busy with family get togethers, shopping, wrapping presents, etc. and that makes for one insane and crazy gal meaning me.
So I am here to share a 300 count matchbox I altered using the Farmhouse Christmas Fabric Panel and cardstock from Canvas Corp. The panel I received is an assortment of different old time country farm images. I chose the sled image since it was the perfect size for the top of the matchbox. I spritzed some Tattered Angels Crushed Shells glimmer mist into a bowl and added a couple drops of water to it. Mixed and then painted the sled and once dry I fussy cut out.

Next I used the following cardstock: Tan and Ivory French Script and Lime Green and White Ribbon Stripe to cover the outside and inside of the matchbox.

I added ivory colors trim to both ends, along with buttons, flat back pearls and sequins.

The silver snowflake ornament I bought in a pack but found out when I got home one of the ends of it was cut off. Instead of throwing it away I was able to still use it by covering up the damaged end with the sled and other decorative pieces of thread, tulle, paper holly leaves and such.

The holly leaves I used the Holly and Berries #6 diecut and cut from Lime Green and White Dot Reverse cardstock which I inked and shaped before adhering to the corner of the sled along with another mini snowflake ornament. I also used the Flocked Ivory Damask on White paper for the banner and I wrapped around the center of the matchbox to add a touch old time vintage charm.

There you have it one project finished and ready for Christmas. :-) Be sure to stop back by my blog Friday because I will be sharing what I did with the other half of the Farmhouse Christmas Fabric Panel I received. ;-) Also if you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by, hope your Wednesday is wonderful and enjoy creating!
